Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Vydstudio ("we," "us") operates the AI video studio at vydstudio.ai. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it — including data we access through the YouTube API Services when you connect your YouTube channel. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. Information we collect

When you sign up we collect your email address and authentication details via Clerk. When you generate a video we store the prompt, format, model, uploaded assets, generated frames, voice selection, and the resulting video file. We log basic request metadata (timestamp, user ID, model, duration) for billing and abuse prevention. When you connect a third-party account, we store the data described in section 3.

3. YouTube API Services

Vydstudio uses the YouTube API Services so you can connect your YouTube channel and upload and manage the videos you generate. When you authorise this, we access and store:

  • OAuth access and refresh tokens (so we can act on your behalf until you disconnect);
  • your channel's ID, name and avatar (to show which channel is connected and where videos will be posted);
  • permission to upload videos to, and read basic details of, your channel.

Google's handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke Vydstudio's access to your YouTube data at any time from your Google security settings, or by disconnecting the channel in Vydstudio.

4. Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)

Vydstudio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we use data obtained from Google APIs only to provide and improve the YouTube features you ask for. We do not use Google or YouTube data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the service or as required by law, and we do not use it to train any AI model.

5. How we use your information

We use your information to run the service: to authenticate you, generate and store your videos, publish them to platforms you connect, process billing, prevent abuse, and provide support. We don't use it for any purpose you wouldn't reasonably expect.

6. Third-party processors

We share data with processors only as needed to deliver the service, and each only receives what its task requires: Clerk (authentication), Cloudflare R2 (file storage), fal.ai (video models), HeyGen (avatar videos), Anthropic (scene and script generation), ElevenLabs (voice and music), Polar (billing), Inngest (job orchestration), Firecrawl (product-page crawling), Sentry (error monitoring), Vercel (hosting), and the social platforms you connect (Google/YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook). Each has its own privacy policy.

7. Storage, retention and deletion

We keep your account and project data while your account is active. YouTube and other connected-account tokens are kept until you disconnect the account or delete your Vydstudio account. Disconnecting a channel deletes its stored tokens immediately; deleting your account removes your projects, segments, uploaded assets and connected-account data within 30 days. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.

8. What we don't do

We don't train our own models on your prompts, your uploaded assets, your generated videos, or any data we access through the YouTube API Services. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.

9. Your rights and choices

You can export or delete your account at any time from Settings. You can disconnect any connected platform there too, and revoke Vydstudio's YouTube access from your Google security settings. If you're in Australia, the Australian Privacy Principles give you the right to access and correct the personal information we hold about you — email us to make a request.

10. Data security

Access tokens and your data are stored on managed infrastructure with access controls, and transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit who can access it.

11. Children's privacy

Vydstudio isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age required to use the service in their country. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.

13. Contact
